Rescue operations at and behind the front lines in Ukraine constantly need support and new equipment to replace losses caused by war and heavy usage. In the summer of 2024, Your Finnish Friends contributed to supporting these efforts by delivering a fully equipped fire truck to Sumy, Ukraine.

The truck, originally found on an online sales forum, was purchased from a local volunteer fire brigade. The vehicle was relatively new and had only recently been retired from active emergency use.
The fire truck was sold without equipment, but with the help of YFF’s acquisitions and donations from several companies and volunteer fire brigades, the necessary equipment was gathered. In addition to hoses and clearing tools, the equipment included a 7 kW generator, firefighting foam, absorption booms, and protective clothing.

The truck was delivered to Ukraine in August 2024 as part of the largest aid convoy assembled in the Nordics, organized by Zero Line Finland. Before the journey, the truck was on display along with the rest of the convoy at Helsinki's Senate Square.
Before its departure to Ukraine, the truck was test-driven by MEP Pekka Toveri.
