Your Finnish Friends as a fundraising channel

Your Finnish Friends can serve as a platform for a wide range of aid projects. This opportunity was utilized by Emonea, a content creator focused on game streaming, who wanted to take her already impressive fundraising efforts to the next level.

Anyone can donate money for a single tourniquet. But what if we could gather a group and together fund something like an entire ambulance?

Inspired by this thought, Emonea organized a game stream themed around collecting aid for Ukraine. Five thousand dollars was estimated to be enough to by some kind of an ambulance, ten thousand a good one, and twenty thousand a “god tier” vehicle.

Even though the idea of such a large-scale fundraiser through game streaming raised a few eyebrows at first, the stream quickly began to gain traction and attract more both streamers and viewers. In the end, it managed to collect over $55,000!

The fundraiser was carried out as part of Your Finnish Friends’ operations, utilizing the association's existing fundraising permit. After the fundraising event, YFF's network was also used to search, purchase, equip, and transport the ambulances.

Currently, Emonea is in Ukraine, bringing visibility to humanitarian efforts, participating in new projects, and always looking for new ways to help.
